What a lovely Saturday morning! I decided to go to the gym this morning even though I usually take Saturdays off to recuperate from the week. But there was that little birdy telling me that a Saturday morning exercise will be perfect to usher in this weekend. I also..well I found out that a local pizzeria has a vegan pie so I admit that another motivation for this morning's workout was to sweat out that delicious vegan pizza! Yes, the pie wasn't exactly abiding by my OP HEALTHBOD rules, but whatever! Today is Day 29 so I'm find with some vegan junk food as a celebration. This pizzeria will soon recognize my name and order!
I had a specific memory surface when my love and I went to pick up the pie. My mom used to take us as kids to this pizzeria to pick up an order of pizza dough that she would use to craft a homemade pizza. I felt like I was a child again walking in to this pizzeria and I haven't thought about that memory in so long!
This entry is inspired by a podcast episode that I listened this morning after the gym. Before I get to that! I had a fantastic breakfast. I made vegan enchiladas two days ago and there were more of the "stuffing" left over so I made them into burritos and stored them in the fridge. They were so so good! I boiled potatoes, sauteed a pepper and onion (in vegetable broth), cooked black beans, and threw them all into a wrap along with corn and tomatoes. Delicious, satisfying, and oil-free! I cannot wait to make them again and my love also really enjoyed them!
Yes! This morning's podcast. Whispers from Higher Mind had me search Apple Podcasts for an episode of a show featuring John Edward. This led me to a recent episode he did on a podcast that I never heard of. I saw that it was released at the end of April 2025 so I was like...let me listen!
I linked the episode above and it is from the Beyond This... Podcast.
I wrote many entries expressing my admiration and appreciation for John Edward. So this will be no different!
John said a quote in this episode that he heard from another medium back in the day (I believe the medium's name is Robert Brown) and I was struck by this quote.
Loosely, this is the quote: "Mediums need to have the Hide of a Rhino and the Heart of a Deer."
I don't think I ever could put that statement more perfectly to describe this work and navigating this world doing this work.
The Hide of a Rhino and the Heart of a Deer.
I really recommend you listen to this episode. John goes into detailing all the things that I love regarding his approach to this work, the reality and the mechanics of this work, and also all the bullshit that surrounds this work by those who are truly destroying the Sacred Art of Mediumship.
Hide of a Rhino. You know, I'm trying to get myself into appreciation for the trials by fire that this work led me to experience. Obviously...I'm not like John in which I don't have years of people attacking me on a world-wide-scale. But! I had my share of experiences which were terrible.
This work definitely forced me to construct a healthy self-esteem and fortify my healthy boundaries. I'm not putting up with shit. I just...I'm not allowing myself to be put in and/or stay in situations with people who are disrespecting me in any area of my life especially my psychic and mediumistic skills.
Growing up being super sensitive and shy...emotional...search for Sun in Cancer Child (and Pisces Ascendant) and you'll find me. This work, after the initial period of excitement and wonder, really forced me to develop a thick skin and to not become so easily bruised (even though I still very much have my moments).
Oh man. John goes into the podcast talking about the theatrics some "mediums" do...he aligns with my perspective about the stupidity of "psychics" and "mediums" on social media that go against the integrity of this work. He discusses the care and the necessity of evidential information which are some of the most important aspects of genuine mediumship.
I wanted the episode to continue longer!
It really was such a treat to listen to this episode and how my action on the Breadcrumb to just do a simple Apple Podcast search led me to have a morning that is appreciative, warm, and passionate!
