Readings. An Act of sharing my skills which is infused with my passion and love for PSI! Hopefully, as you can decipher from my website, I strive to align a person’s expectations and perceptions with the reality of PSI, Readings, and the actual work. The Mused graced me with her presence to write this entry as another lens to view this work.
To align a person’s perceptions and expectations with the reality of this work and how a psychic/medium can assist a client…it is important for the sensationalism, click-bait culture, and television editing of PSI to be erased.
Honestly, Readings are nothing spectacular or even really jaw-dropping. It’s just a conversation where the psychic/medium relays his/her impressions. The practitioner reports the thought patterns received. The feelings. The sensations. What the practitioner sees. Hyper-focused clues. Fragments. Pieces of a puzzle.
This is where some mediumship television shows really make the real work by an authentic practitioner much more difficult than it already is. Some of these shows create an illusionary level of expectation that pushes another false presentation of PSI which is even on the same level as the distortions spewed by cynics and unhealthy skeptics.
Don’t get me wrong. I find PSI, Readings, this work to be incredibly fascinating! It is cool! But…the most interesting aspect of these skills and this work is how natural and human everything is in reality.
I always say that mediumship will never been the same as you having a conversation with your loved one like how it was when your loved one was in a physical body on Earth. It just isn’t. Mediumship is of the medium connecting to the Energy of your loved one and filtering that Energy through the medium’s system.
A mediumship reading will provide glimmers of your loved one’s essence. Strands. Threads. Pieces. A medium will not become your loved one. The information delivered to you will be pieces of a puzzle. Clues. You may feel the personality of your loved one as Spirit communicates with the medium. However…you’re still in a relationship with the medium for the duration of the reading as the medium tunes to the Energy of Spirit.
Every psychic and medium is an individual person. Human. They just can pick up on information and energy in a more direct, refined, focused way. Like how other trades worked by humans require various skills focused through the tradesman which may not be something you are necessarily aligned to do in matters of performing a service.
I absolutely hate disappointing people which I think is something healthy for me to recognize in order for me to do my best. Disappointing a client, the potential to do so, fuels my fire to write about these skills in order to pierce through any misperceptions and misunderstandings. I cannot deliver a client with the exaggerated, bombastic, hollywoodified representation of PSI. I also don’t want to do that because it would be laced with falsities and…it also just doesn’t happen.
Just because a Reading with an authentic practitioner does not deliver the sensationalism and exaggeration does not mean that a Reading isn’t a useful tool and a valuable service.
Readings feel like a report is delivered to a client. A report laced with clues, puzzle pieces, threads, and series of impressions. Accurate information is the goal. As accurate as humanly possible. Key word…humanly.
I want people to value the tool of a Reading and understand the reality of PSI. Readings are really just the practitioner saying everything that he/she receives without editing, judging, or interfering with the information. The more people delete the exaggeration and sensationalism then the more people can use the Tool of a Reading as a beneficial resource in their lives.
