Small Groups vs Large Gallery Readings

Monday morning and the Muse strikes me with her lightning bolt of inspiration! I had a fantastic morning exercise while jumping back into the ‘Next To Normal’ soundtrack…2009, freshman year of college, and I even got to see a performance of ‘Superboy And The Invisible Girl’ in Times Square! Oh memories.
Anyhow! I am back with another blog entry and doodle! This is about Small Groups versus Large Gallery Readings.
Group Mediumship Readings are a great experience to share with the participants. I used to do regular group readings at a center on Long Island, but that center closed in 2025. I miss it! Maybe one day I’ll find another center that would like to have me do groups, but we shall see!
My groups are small. I prefer to read a maximum of 10 people per GMR. An intimate experience and a smaller group means that there is a higher chance that everyone will receive a reading, but it is not guaranteed. Usually I have between 3 to 8 people sign up for a group reading which is fine by me.
Large Gallery Readings…are not my thing. I never offered this type of service, but I have attended a LGR. I attended 2 LGRs which involved the same medium. This medium is someone I highly, highly, highly respect. I am a huge fan of this medium! The first group was in 2019 and I think the second was in 2021 or so.
It requires a lot confidence to do a LGR. Smaller groups also require a lot of confidence because you are essentially standing in front of a group of strangers without any plan…without any ability to control anything…completely at the mercy of Spirit and the dynamics of the group. But! Large Gallery Readings…no thank you.
Since this medium is someone who I highly respect and has a stellar resume (if you will), there was no fear of this medium faking the group. This field and the “practitioners” are a hit and miss. Some people say mediums have ear pieces and listen to the groups and all the bullshit. Some “mediums” aka fake-mediums probably do that which is why you have to have strengthened discernment skills and follow your Intuitive Instrument.
So! I was reliving the groups while driving home from the gym today and that led me to this entry. The LGR with that medium varied because of the Spirits who joined the LGRs and the dynamics of the group.
I got to see this medium work with the Spirits and the energies. This medium had to focus on where the energy was pooled and then to deliver the information as it was received.
Sometimes the energy was not the best in terms of coherence so the medium had to work through that dynamic. At one point, a participant voiced her annoyance because the LGR was not tied to her unrealistic expectations and her misperceptions. I just shook my head being like “lady, you have no idea what you’re talking about…this medium is doing the real work!”
Witnessing this medium made me realize that even famous mediums are not absolved from the mechanics of mediumship. They cannot control the spirits, what they receieve, and how spirits communicate. I saw myself in this medium and I realized that I am doing great work and I know so much about PSI Mechanics!

As you can see by my doodle…the dynamics of SGR and LGR are very different.
Smaller groups allow for ease. There are a small number of participants and then there is a much smaller pool of Spirits compared to large groups.
Large Gallery Readings…oh boy. There are so many people, so many spirits, and the chords of energy are vast and even distracting. I never done a LGR so I can’t speak from experience. I can only speak from what I observed.
For Large Gallery Readings with a “famous” medium, you are looking to spend a good chunk of change. That’s just how it is. The likelihood of you being read is extremely small. I only went to the 2 LGRs that I mentioned earlier because the tickets were a gift. You could find yourself spending $200 to $300.
I personally won’t ever go to another LGR unless I was gifted a ticket. I don’t find the value of them considering how small of a chance that I’ll be read. I did receive a reading at the first LGR, but not the second.
I would rather save my money and put it toward scheduling a personal, private reading with a medium. Or! I would rather have my friends and family get together for a small group with a medium.
There are some mediums who read at restaurants, but I also wouldn’t go to that. This is essentially a Large Gallery Reading in a restaurant or bar. One…I am plant-based and I don’t drink alcohol so why would I spend money on dinner and drinks? Also, I personally do not read when people are consuming alcohol. No no no. I speak about my No Alcohol Policy often so I won’t go into that in this entry.
Its funny. One of my first group readings that I was hired to do…a participant mocked me because I don’t do large readings. I can’t with some people.
Small groups are wonderful! Especially when it is with a family and everyone wants to connect with the same spirit(s). Or with friends and the participants get to share that experience.
Small groups at the center that I read at were also great! Friends would sign up together or family members. Every group was unique and the dynamics varied. Thankfully I have all the recordings and transcripts stored on my harddrive!
I just find large gallery readings to not be my thing. I wouldn’t want to work at them either despite how much more money I’d make. I would say that spending $20 to $100 on a ticket to a LGR isn’t bad, but I wouldn’t spend $200+.
And you know, my Group Mediumship Readings are not cheap. I set my prices based upon my experience and also due to the recovery time that is required after a group. I have to block off time before the group and after the group to ensure I have my energy reserved to provide the best reading possible. And! I don’t want to read for everyone because, like with any type of customer service-like job, people can be rude, arrogant, dismissive, and just…assholes.
I recommend you save your money for a private reading with an authentic medium that you’re drawn to or gather your friends and family to schedule a small group reading. Large Gallery Readings can be fun, but they aren’t my cup of tea.
