Television Mediumship is an Entry | Find Your Practitioner

Updated: May 22, 2025

Another beautiful May morning and I'm back from my morning walk with the muse whispering in my ear the contents of this entry. May is my second favorite month (October is the first and absolute best) and it is going by too quickly! This morning's walk was fueled by a mix of Blink-182, Kelela, Lady Gaga, and All Time Low. My favorite thing about my exercise routine is the loops of my favorite tunes! A time to set my body on autopilot, listen to my favorite music, and swim in the Day-Dream.

Yesterday, I was actually watching clips of a popular medium on YouTube. I admit that I'm not very interested in mediumship shows due to their sensationalism, heavy editing, and not my favorite depiction of the Sacred Intuitive Arts. I also have a slight distaste for them since in my early days I was often compared to a popular medium on television which annoyed the hell out of me. I'm a medium and I'm gay so is that why you compare me to XYZ? Compare me to the medium on the Poltergeist! The Others! Anything but that person!

Anyhow, I actually did watch a lot of this particular medium's show when it first aired. I worked at the fairs this practitioner worked at and I was exposed to the social dynamics and crowd which I quickly ceased any participation with that. Too much ego, I hate reading in those settings, and I don't want to have to comply with the "standards" of the Long Island psychic crowd.

I enjoyed the clips of this new show and I do have a soft spot for this person. Mediumship shows do have an Entry for people to expose themselves to this work. They are a Breadcrumb. I just wish that people were more informed about the PSI Mechanics and the Reality of the Sacred Intuitive Arts. Nonetheless, I was feeling all comfy and cozy watching the clips. I then watched some interviews with this practitioner on podcasts. I don't listen to many podcasts...actually probably like 2 of them and only one is of "spiritual" topics. However, I really enjoyed this person explaining how there are some misinterpretations and what not that goes along with this work, but there are some things that are absolutely certain and the information must reflect the identification of the spirit coming through to ensure a correct match with the loved one on Earth.

Yesterday made me realize the Entry for people who watch mediumship shows. I used to be consumed by my grievances concerning the ignorance to the reality of this work. A lot of pain still swirling around my Psyche from people who were so disgustingly rude to me which did eventually help me to construct my very healthy boundaries and strict criteria regarding where I read, who I read, and my offerings.

I grew up watching Sylvia Browne and John Edward on television. I loved watching them and I still do have a fondness for them. I admire them! They were my Entry. They were the people willing to put themselves on a national platform to share the work while also accepting all of the hate from the population at large. I could never do that. Seriously, I do not want to be a public figure since I am not equipped to handle all of the assaults and just evil that some people carry with them.

If you're inspired to reach out to a psychic and/or medium due to your viewing of a mediumship show then I highly recommend you do not rush into it. Do your research. Ask around to see if any of your friends or family have a practitioner that they would recommend. Review the practitioner's website. If possible, try to educate yourself on the reality of PSI Mechanics and how a practitioner can help you. Any authentic psychic and/or medium is fully aware of how his/her skills work, how he/she can help a client, and how he/she cannot help a client. It is a Practice similar to a therapist's practice.

I highly recommend you refrain from going to Etsy or Fiverr for readings. The likelihood of you finding an authentic practitioner on those sites....are slim to none. An authentic practitioner has his/her Practice. I also highly recommend you resist going to restaurant readings or the like. Believe me, I worked at a lot of them and I have stories to share. You could go to a psychic fair, but really 15 minute readings suck (in my opinion) and I feel like the environment is terrible to receive a reading that can be a genuine Tool for you.

You're going to have to set aside money for a reading with an authentic practitioner. I'm not saying you're going to have to spend an arm and a leg, but the fees will reflect the practitioner's experience, skills, wisdom, and knowledge. I find most authentic practitioner's set their fees between $100 to $350. Some may charge more if they have a more "celebrity status", but there are some practitioners who set their fees lower than others and they are still excellent.

"Stop! Spirit has a message for you! Watch this video!" My lord. You're wasting your time scrolling through social media and YouTube and watching those types of videos. Any practitioner worth a damn would not be doing that. I could go on and on about these types of videos.

Ultimately, you'll have to use your discernment. Strengthen your discernment skills while also ensuring that you're prepared to receive a reading with someone you have a baseline trust with since the energy between a reader and a client heavily influences the outcome of a reading.

Television mediumship is an Entry, but the real experience during a reading with an authentic practitioner is wonderful! I love being read by those I trust!

Do your research, have a foundation of trust, and be open.
