The Client’s State of mind and emotions are a detrimental factor involved in the potential success and outcome of a reading. The state of being of a client anchors the foundation for a reading to meet the reader’s state of being.
Readings are about energies’ synergies. The energy field of the client greets the reader’s energy field to form the necessary bond which will determine the flow of information and the overall strength of the information.
I learned very early on in my practice that I do not want to read a person who does not want to be read. Then the wheel of time took me on a journey to experiences where I learned how a client can positively or negatively drive a reading for success or to failure.
This is nuanced. Every reading is unique and every client is unique. An unsatisfactory link may not be caused by a client who is closed, unwilling, or resentful. This subpar link may be due to a client being too emotional due to the events of the day which brought that turbulent energy into a reading. A client may also be too involved in the grieving process and spirit determines that a reading is not beneficial at that time.
I created three simple columns in this entry’s doodle like I did for The Reader’s State.

It is not necessary for a client to be in a meditative state that mirrors a monk isolated inside a temple. A client doesn’t have to even be a blank state. Obviously, there are reasons why a client comes to a reading and the reasons carry emotional energy. However, heightened and dynamic emotions may disjoint a reading.
A client just needs to be open and calm. To be Receptive and anchored in Intention. The biggest requirement is for a client to intrinsically want the reading. I’ve read clients who were gifted readings and the energy was off. I suspect it is because they did not truly want the reading, but accepted the gift. The readings were surface-level…distant…staggered. This is why I no longer offer gift certificates.
Column 3…oh boy. I just don’t experience clients like this in Column 3 anymore because of how I structured my practice. However, I did “read” for clients like in Column 3 in my early days. I put read in quotation marks because I wouldn’t consider them readings. They were combust as in the energy was explosive and not tethered to coherence. I could barely pick up on a single thread of information. Usually Column 3 clients came to me while I was at psychic fairs or restaurant readings or even at house parties. I would say that Column 3 clients were rarer compared to Column 2 because a severely closed-minded, cynical, argumentative “client” would not pay their own money to schedule a reading.
Column 2 were uncommon, but more frequent than Column 3. These were the types who were willing to spend money on my old fees, but they were not the most excited or interested in receiving a reading nor were they interested in learning about the process of a reading. I’d say mostly the “Prove It To Me, Kid” people would be in this column. The information I picked up were basic. Sure, I could pick up on evidential information and these clients validated what I said. However, their engagement with me, the energy they brought to the readings were standoffish and defensive. They were partially open and also partially closed. Unsure why they scheduled the reading, but were also somewhat interested. A lot of wishy-washy energy.
Column 1…the best type of client! The client who comes into a reading with specific intentions while also being open to receive whatever information that streams through a reading. The client who brings the energy that enables me to receive the information in a flow-state. The client who wants to travel with me into the unknown and who heightens the reading’s synergy by believing I can help and trusts in my skills as the client learns about the basics of a reading.
You do not need to do lengthy pre-reading rituals or even be anxious if you are doing everything right before and during a reading. I’d say that expressing your concerns about bringing your best to a reading and expressing your worries shows that you are bringing excellent energy to the reading because you care.
Life happens. If you’ve been uncharacteristically emotional and experiencing difficult events in the days surrounding your reading which prevents you from being grounded then reschedule the reading. I recommend you try not to be in too much of a heightened state because that will not focus the reading well. Maybe just book an Audio Read.
Desire the reading. Be present in the reading. Anchor your intentions for the reading. Enjoy the process. That’s all you need to do.
